Meet Rita
After more than 15 years working in the corporate world, I decided to take a completely different path and turn my love of animals into something of my own.
I am a fully qualified iPET Network Level 3 Dog Groomer and have also completed Canine First Aid training, giving me the professional knowledge and practical skills to care for the pets entrusted to me.
Animals have always been a big part of my life. I’m the daughter of a veterinary surgeon and married to a veterinary surgeon, so I’ve spent much of my life surrounded by animals and conversations about their health, behaviour and wellbeing. This has given me a deeper appreciation of animal care that naturally influences the way I approach grooming.
I created The Coat Lab to offer the kind of grooming experience I would want for my own pet — calm, personal and never rushed. I work one-to-one, by appointment, so every pet has my full attention and their groom can be adapted to their coat, temperament and individual needs.
For me, a beautiful groom matters — but making sure your pet feels safe, comfortable and cared for matters just as much.

The Coat Lab is a quiet, one-to-one grooming space where pets can be groomed with patience, comfort and individual attention.
Our purpose-built Woodford Green studio is now open, offering a calm environment where every appointment is tailored to your pet’s coat, temperament and needs.
What I offer
Full Groom includes: bath, blow dry, clipping/scissoring, ear clean, perfume and styling. Prices shown are starting prices and may vary depending on breed, coat condition, coat length, matting, behaviour, size and time required to complete the groom.
Bath & Tidy is ideal for coat maintenance between full grooms or for dogs who need a freshen-up without a full haircut.
Puppy grooming is about confidence first. The aim is to gently introduce the bath, dryer, brushing, table work and handling so grooming becomes a positive routine.
Prices are a guide and may vary depending on coat condition, temperament, breed and the time required.
Cat grooming is offered on a one-to-one basis in a calm environment. Every appointment is adapted to your cat’s temperament and comfort level. For their welfare and safety, grooming may be shortened or stopped if a cat becomes overly stressed or shows signs of aggression.
Add-ons can be booked with selected grooming services. Teeth cleaning is not a replacement for veterinary dental care, but can help prevent the build-up of plaque and tartar between professional dental treatments. Flea treatment may require an additional studio cleaning fee depending on the case.
The Coat Club
Beautiful coats are maintained through regular grooming, not occasional grooming.
Clients who keep their dogs on a regular grooming schedule automatically become part of The Coat Club — my way of thanking you for trusting me with your dog's ongoing care.
